Play pretend is real fun when the adults are not looking.
Last night, Mommie freaked out when she saw me pretending to be a chef, stirring my pot of soup. EXCEPT.... the pot is really the toilet bowl and the soup is... ok.. let's not go into details!
The next person who was equally freaked out was my dear darling big sister. Why? Coz my ladle is her giant pen with a cute lil' daisy on it. One of her favourites i must say.... and because of my deed, mommie sent the pen straight to the bin.
I don't know if my folks are amused or not but I'm now officially known as the resident "shit stirrer".

I Am ONE!
I am ONE and i declare the start of my toddlerhood. Can't call me a baby anymore. With my graduation from babyhood, i now enjoy a lot more freedom.
Some of the things i enjoy most are checking out the pots and pans in the kitchen cabinets, peering into the washing machine, climbing up onto the cupboards to see the world through the windows, fighting with my sister for toys.
When i'm out at a shopping centre, I play my favourite game of "Catch me if you can!" with my folks. It thrills me to no end when i see the look of astonishment on mommie or daddie's face whenever i...
1) Run towards the escalator
2) Run towards the Jenga "blocks" at Watsons or Guardian Pharmancy. Somehow my follks are always faster than me and they'll scoop me up before i could pull the shampoo, handwash or whatever from the bottom of that jenga pile!
I am ONE and loving everyday of my life! The next thing i'm looking forward to would be to go to school, just like my big sister :)

Updates Updates
Mommie made a mental note to herself that she has to update my blog before all my babyhood memories are forgotten!
Growing up is so much fun. Only 8 months ago, i was a helpless bundle of flesh who is incapable of doing anything other than cry, pee, poo and drink breast milk. 8 months on, I'm standing, cruising and very soon will be walking.
Unlike my sister who is alot more exposed at 10mths old. I'm mostly cooped up at home with our 2 maids. I was delighted when my folks decided to take me out of the house and fly off to a land 10 hours away and so different from home. I was in New Zealand.
New Zealand was an amazing break for me. My parents introduced me to food i've never tasted before like pasta, rice, ice-cream, kiwifruit, yogurt, lamb stew, beef which teased my tastebuds to no end!
I went on many snow rides on my sleigh (aka Daddy), crawled and fumbled around on snow.I had lots of fun but gotta admit that the thick winter clothes took me a lot of getting used to.
Here's a video of me during snow play :)

Mobility is bliss
The latest skill i've picked up is, crawling. I'm still not very good at it and sometimes, i need to crawl on all 5s, using my head to give me the occasional boost!
I'm also able to pull myself up, walk a few steps holding on to whatever i can get my hands on and wriggle out of my bumbo. I'm so glad that i'm no longer a prisoner of the bumbo. Now my folks do not consider the bumbo a safe place to put me in without supervision.
Downside to my newfound freedom? My parents and maids now hawk eye me all the time... there's not a second without a trained eye looking at my direction.. hmm... it's really hard for me to get into any mischief now.

New Toy on the block
My folks brought me for a "test drive" of exersaucers at Vivocity's Mothercare and we returned home with the Fisher Price Jumperoo. This new toy keeps me entertained for 10 mins and mommie gets 10 mins of peace. So far, I'm loving this new piece of toy which offers me some freedom. I can rotate around, i can bounce... AND YES.. i can really bounce. Don't believe? Check out this video. Gives a whole new meaning to the term "bouncy baby girl"

On all fours
Mobility is bliss! I've recently discovered what fun it is to be able to move around and explore the world of remote controls, handphones and whatever that is strewn on the bed. If you ask me what i like more.... hmm. i must say Handphones tastes alot better than remote controls. AND.. it tickles me silly whenever i get this reaction from mommie when she sees me snacking on her handphone "AH!!!!! DON'T DROWN MY PHONE IN YOUR DROOL!!".
There's one thing i cannot fathom though... Why are my "targets" getting further and further away from me, as i crawl faster and faster? Could it be.... *GASPS* I'm crawling BACKWARDS?!

Mummm Mummm Time
Like my sister, I'm a big fan of fruits. I love to suck on nectarines and strawberries. Life is getting more interesting now that I get to experience different flavours everyday! I absolutely love the gerber banana stars and my brown rice with pumpkin and sweet potato. Bread is something i enjoy too, though i only get very small quantity (and by that i mean really small....) of it at any one time.
Here's a video of me enjoying a nectarine

What keeps me entertained?
This is one of my favourite toys. I get to see a pretty face in the mirror, it sings to me and there are lots of gadgets to bang my little fists into.

Makan 101
Today, I turn 5 months old and i have a reason to celebrate. 1 March marks the beginning of my gastronomical journey. I've been introduced to more interesting things in life..... REAL food!! Now, apart from fresh mommie milk, i also get to share my big sister's gruel and sample some rice cereal.
Err... Mommie got a little over enthusiatic with the rice cereal and fed me 5 spoonfuls, instead of 1 as instructed by the doctor. The result? A tummyache from overeating.

Rice cereal from Nestle - A sample mommy got from the Baby Fair

Bring on the chocolate....

And the cookies!

But no!! Don't make me your dinner. I ain't no steak!

And i Flipped!
Reporting a major milestone in my development. I've finally succeeded in flipping from my back to tummy. I'm feeling more and more liberated now.... first i flip, then i turned 90 degrees, perhaps soon I'll start to crawl.... Woohoo!
What's my name?
This is all getting quite confusing... My folks call me by different names all the time, so which one am i suppose to respond to?
I really like the last one though :)
| Ba Ba Baby | Cubby Bear |
| Jay Jay | Cutie Pie |

My first holiday
Crazy as it might sound, my family took a post christmas holiday to Hongkong from December 27 to 31. I was only 2 months old then!
My first plane ride was uneventful (thank god!!) as i slept most of the time, waking up only briefly to observe the surroundings.
My whirlwind 5 days 4 nights holiday was fuzzy wuzzy... i was shuttled around in a hand me down yellow graco "limousine" and even slept 2 nights in it. Well, in case you think it's a torture to sleep in a pram, it's really wasn't too bad at all. The pram was laid with plush cushy blankets and since i'm still rather tiny, there was ample space for me to flex my limbs. No trouble at all :)
After mommie is satisfied with all the shopping, and Daddie's done with eating his favourite Hongkong dishes, we headed over to Disneyland where we spent 2 relaxing days. My sister had the most magical birthday, and i had the most magical time! I went on rides with my folks, watched shows, taking in all the new sights, sounds. I guess i enjoyed the Astroblaster ride the most, coz I've never seen so many colours in my life! Mommie held on to me, while daddie was busy zapping aliens.
Overall, it wasn't as stressful as they thought it would be. In fact, i think i've been such a good traveller, they have no qualms taking me on more trips. Next up, we will be heading to China in April followed by a winter holiday in New Zealand in July! My sister and I are hoping for some snowfall so we can do some snowflake fishing with our tongue and make snow angels. Hooray!

My First Chinese New Year
My First Chinese New Year and what it meant to me...
1) I get to go out almost everyday. That means the adults don't force me to sleep so much
2) I see lots and lots of different faces who coos and make funny faces at me... And i return the favour by giving them a blank look.
3) All these new people i've never met before are thrusting those big red bags (which comes in various sizes and shapes) into my little chubby fists. I don't know what these are but i see my big sister gleefully taking and stuffing them into her handbag.
4) My mommie and Sati dresses me up in a different dress everyday. I especially like the rompers with organza skirts.. They taste really yummy!
5) I get to spend more time with my big sister. We watched tv and play together. Oh.. and today we painted an umbrella together. Well, ok.. she painted it while i watched by the side.
6) I met a little girl (ok.. maybe not so little) who is 6 days older but a lot bigger than me. We did some tummy time together and "interacted" a bit. Hmm... that makes her my FIRST friend :)
7) My folks tire me out so much, I can almost sleep through the night now (much to my mommie's delight!)

My first friend, Eunice :)

When temper flares
Mommie took a video of me kicking up a big fuss when my milk was not served to me promptly. Sigh.. i thought an experienced mom will know that a hungry baby is almost always an angry baby?

Locked in dreamland
Call this pre Chinese New Year excitment - My sister locked me in the room all by myself this morning.
Alarm bells went off only when Sati alerted mommie. All these time, big sister was hoping that the problem will just go away unnoticed or she could miraculously find a magic key to open the door.
When the adults found out, it was all hell break loose....
Daddie started bouncing himself off the door which reminded mommie of an episode in "I survived a Japanese Gameshow!". And when it didn't work, he wished aloud for a sledgehammer
Sati started frantically digging the whole house for keys - we found a key that will open my daddie's door but not mine
Fatty Gramps rushed home from her office and tried to open the door with all the keys in her pouch. Again, non of them worked.
Mommie called a locksmith and it took him 15 mins to arrive at our house and 1 min to open the door.
My big sister didn't get a scolding, daddie and mommie explained the gravity of this problem and told her never to do it again. I know she loves me, is truly apologetic and will never do this to me again.
As for me? I was locked in dreamland all these while - unscathed, unfazed!

3 month old update
Yesterday after our swim, daddie dropped me off with Sati at home.
Fatty Gramps was home too and I had a good time playing with her until she started telling me that daddie, mommie and ka cheh didn't want me anymore, and that was why they left me at home. It really scared the hell out of me and that made me cry buckets!! Thankfully, the 3 of the them came home soon and i realised that Fatty Gramps was only joking with me.
Well, at this stage, when i still can neither walk nor talk and totally at the mercy of adults, it's really diffcult for me to decipher what's real and what's not... so Fatty Gramps, will you please stop playing such heartstopping pranks on me?
