Baby Alive

Whilst doing your christmas shopping, have you been to Toys'R'us? And, if you did, did you see this really cool doll called "Baby Alive"?

My sister Joey didn't need one of that, coz she has got me. A real baby who can do everything that the doll can plus more (i.e. cry, smile, react).

Here are pictures of her enjoying my company. (Clothing courtesy of The Bear Workshop. On loan from Shiver Bear and Aladdin Cow)

Waterworld

Today my mom brought me to this cheena looking shop for my first dip. Though i look ridiculous with an inflatable "donut" around my neck and passerbys looking in at me through the big glass windows like i'm some marine clown, i must admit that i thoroughly enjoyed myself. I'm looking forward to more of these sessions until i'm big and strong enough to use the real pool just like my big sister.

My Passport

We are going on a family holiday soon with Joey's classmates. Mommie is now frantically trying to get my travel documents ready. She submitted this photo for my passport. I wasn't very cooperative when she took my photo and this is the best that she can do.

She now wonders if the photo is acceptable. What do you think?

I am one month old

I had the first party of my life on 27 October at the Penang Place restaurant. It's a party planned by my folks to celebrate my first month of birth.

My parents couldn't thank our family and friends enough for their support, blessings, well-wishes and gifts (my house was literally bursting with flowers and baby hampers at one point!)

Here are some pictures taken at the party. To all uncles and aunties who came to celebrate this special day with me, thank you for coming and I hope you've had an enjoyable time at the party :)

Hair today, Gone tomorrow

In my state of semi awareness, i vaguely overheard daddie and mommie telling Sati to prepare my bags as we are heading out to the shopping centre. In my humble opibnion, shopping is a rather safe activity, so i left myself in their good hands and continued with my beauty sleep.

Little did i expect to leave the house with a full head of hair, only to return home a botak! My folks have decided that they wanted to give me a momento in the form of a Tai Mao Bi (chinese calligraphy brush made out of baby's hair) and in order to have it made, i have to sacrifice all my hair. To make me feel better, daddie went for a haircut too and now there are 2 botak heads in the house.

But, there's someone at home who's feeling really uneasy now. My big sister Joey having witnessed how my hair got shaved off in my sleep is really worried that daddie and mommie would do the same to her too! Now the first thing she does every morning is to feel her head and look in the mirror to make sure her hair is not gone :)

Oh my gawd!! What happened to my hair??

Jamie 3 weeks old

Here are some little nuggets of facts about me, at 3 weeks old.

Bigger eater?
I'm a bigger eater as compared to my kah cheh (aka Big Sister Joey). When kah cheh was about my age, she could only down abt 2 ounces of milk. As for me, I'm usually only satisfied after a feed of between 80 to 120ml of breastmilk. That's about the same amount of milk she takes before going to bed.

Enough is enough
I'm a principled girl. I will not take an extra drop of milk if i don't want to. The message to daddie and mommie is - there's no point in force feeding me, coz every extra drop shall be spat out, puked out or "accidentally" drooled out of my mouth. Did i also tell you that I'm particularly good at pushing the teat out of my mouth or irritate my mommie by twirling and twisting the teat in my mouth without sucking.

Food, Glorious Food
The grey matter in me tells me that anything that comes near my mouth = FOOD. And that includes my wormy (a squishy toy), the hanky, the tissue and also the bath water *slurp*. Love it when mommie puts me on my tummy during bath time. When she's not watching, i take a sip or two of that yummy lactacyd ladened bath water! Oh.. and this usually freaks mommie out....hehe

Leg Power

I have the power! My legs are pretty strong, though I can't walk nor crawl yet. But i'm capable of kicking myself out of bed if i want to.

Queer Sleeping Habit

I like to sleep in brightness.. that explains why i'm mostly asleep in the day and wide awake at night. When light goes out, my lungs will go into "auto-wail" mode. Little wonder why i found myself sleeping on the changing table in the toilet last night with the lights on. Hmm.. i don't really mind sleeping in the toilet, except poor sleepy daddie will have to sit on the toilet bowl and watch over me with one eye open and one eye closed. While the open eye is fixed on me, the closed eye has drifted off to dream land... Now that's what i call MULTI-TASKING!

Cordless

I have a complain to make..... Daddie threw away my cord stump! When Fatty Gramps bathed me this morning, she found my stump missing and searched everywhere for it but it was no where to be found.

After thinking through the chain of events this morning, Daddie and Mommie deduced that the stump must have been packed into the diaper and thrown away together with my POO POO. Daddie did try to find the soiled diaper by digging through the trash, but Sati has thrown the morning gabbage away... So down the chute went my little cord stump :(

Daddie tried to comfort mommie by saying "At least we saved her cordblood...."

Hello World!

Hello World!

My name is Jamie Khor, born to parents Wee Siong and Daphne. I decided to see the world on 29 September 2008, although the doctor said i should come out on the 9 October instead. Well.... I came early, coz.. I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THE WORLD!

Mommie and Daddie are happy that i chose to appear on 29 coz it happens to fall on Daddie's reservist day, which means to say, he need not take any time off work to tend to my arrival. Mommie thinks i'm a really considerate little angel, i broke her waterbag while she was in the toilet (no mess!) and i gave her a good nite of rest before i decided to "knock" on the exit! And, I made my appearance at 11.35am, just in time for Daddie and Mommie to enjoy their lunch.

In my first blog, i would like to thank Dr Ann Tan - The doctor who pulled me out of mommie. She's the first person who greeted me - and my new family and friends who sent their well-wishes and loads of presents!

Thank you thank you!

Hello world!
